Vol. 223 No. 6

Business of Seanad

I have received notice from Senator Mary Moran that, on the motion for the Adjournment of the House today, she proposes to raise the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Health to discuss the case of a person (details supplied) who suffers from a rare genetic disorder and the rejection of his treatment abroad scheme application.

I have also received notice from Senator Trevor Ó Clochartaigh of the following matter:

Ceist a chur ar an Aire Dlí, Cosanta agus Comhionannais ráiteas a dhéanamh maidir le cur i bhfeidhm na Stráitéise Náisiúnta Míchumais "I dTreo 2016", agus go mór mór na haidhmeanna sa straitéis a bhaineann le míchumais, cén céatadán d'fhostaithe atá sna Ranna Rialtais éagsúla a bhfuil míchumas acu, cén sprioc atá ann chun a gcuid ionadaíochta a mhéadú agus cén chaoi an bhfuil sé i gceist ag an Rialtas é seo a bhaint amach.

I have also received notice from Senator Martin Conway of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Justice and Equality to establish as a matter of urgency a panel of equality experts for equality mainstreaming supports for the SME sector, given that the EU funding for this programme will run out at the end of 2013.

I have also received notice from Senator Thomas Byrne of the following matter:

To ask the Minister for Health to make a statement on the future provision of services at Our Lady's Hospital, Navan.

I have also received notice from Senator David Cullinane of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Social Protection to discuss the withdrawal of the community welfare office in Tramore, County Waterford; the impact it will have on the local community; and how the community welfare services will now be provided.

I regard the matters raised by the Senators as suitable for discussion on the Adjournment. I have selected the matters raised by Senators Mary Moran, Trevor Ó Clochartaigh, Thomas Byrne and Martin Conway and they will be taken at the conclusion of business. Senator David Cullinane may give notice on another day of the matter he wishes to raise.
