The need for the Minister for Justice and Equality to make a statement, in the light of the proven effectiveness of crime prevention text alerts in both urban and rural trials, on whether consideration could be given to a centralised grant fund to allow residents' associations and communities to begin their own crime prevention text alert trials.

Senator Fidelma Healy Eames may give notice on another day of the matter she wishes to raise. I regret that I have had to rule out of order the matter raised by Senator Mary Moran, as the Minister has no official responsibility in the matter.
