Business of Seanad

I have received notice from Senator Trevor Ó Clochartaigh that, on the motion for the Adjournment of the House today, he proposes to raise the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation to outline the steps he is taking to reverse the decline in employment in rural areas in the west and the specific targets being laid down for State agencies in this regard.

I have also received notice from Senator Mary Moran of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for the Environment, Community and Local Government to address urgently the housing situation of a person (details supplied) who is on the housing transfer list on medical grounds owing to a debilitating disability.

I have also received notice from Senator Katherine Zappone of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Children and Youth Affairs to review the decision by the management of Tallaght hospital to close the hospital’s crèche and to assist the parents working in the hospital to find a solution to this unacceptable situation.

I have also received notice from Senator Colm Burke of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Justice and Equality to review the procedure whereby three month visas are issued for non-EU citizens, in particular, to accommodate the immediate families of non-EU doctors working in the health system.

I regard the matters raised by the Senators as suitable for discussion on the Adjournment and they will be taken at the conclusion of business.
