Business of Seanad

I have received notice from Senator Paschal Mooney that, on the motion for the Adjournment of the House today, he proposes to raise the following matter:

The need for the Minister for the Environment, Community and Local Government, in the context of the public library strategy for 2013-17, Opportunities for All, to clarify the situation in relation to the future of the County Leitrim library staff and the excellent service they provide.

I have also received notice from Senator Martin Conway of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Justice and Equality to consider a nationwide expansion of the small areas policing programme currently operated by An Garda Síochána in Dublin.

I have also received notice from Senator Mary Ann O'Brien of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Transport, Tourism and Sport to outline all the costs encountered by his Department and the State due to the construction of a service area at Kilcullen, County Kildare, between junctions 2 and 3 on the M9.

I have also received notice from Senator Colm Burke of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Health to reach an agreement with pharmacists on the provision of a medicine service which would provide early support to patients who are newly prescribed a medicine for a long-term condition, with repeated follow-up in the short term to increase effective medicine-taking.

I have also received notice from Senator Brian Ó Domhnaill of the following matter:

Ag iarraidh ar an Aire Ealaíon, Oidhreachta agus Gaeltachta go n-iarrfaidh an Rialtas go h-oifigiúil deireadh a chuir leis an maolú ar stádas na Gaeilge mar theanga oifigiúil den Aontas Eorpach.

I have also received notice from Senator Mary Moran of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Education and Skills to address the unsuccessful summer works scheme application for an institute, details supplied, which has applied for security works in an effort to deter the ongoing anti-social behaviour of recent months on the school grounds.

I have also received notice from Senator Marie Moloney of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Health to outline whether or not he has any proposals to extend the BreastCheck service to women between 65 and 69 years of age.

I regard the matters raised by Senators Mooney, Conway, O'Brien and Burke as suitable for discussion on the Adjournment and they will be taken at the conclusion of business. Senators Ó Domhnaill, Moran and Moloney may give notice on another day of the matters they wish to raise.
