I have received notice from Senator Eugene Murphy that, on the motion for the Commencement of the House today, he proposes to raise the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Health to make a statement on the resourcing of neurology nurse specialists, particularly in the catchment area of University Hospital Galway.

I have also received notice from Senator Rónán Mullen of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Health to make a statement on the proposed review of the Health (Regulation of Termination of Pregnancy) Act 2018.

I have also received notice from Senator Robbie Gallagher of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Finance to make a statement on the application of VAT liabilities on dental practitioners and, in particular, the impact of this on dental practices in the Border region.

I have also received notice from Senators Garret Ahearn and Tim Lombard of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine to make a statement on the role of young farmers in ensuring the future viability of the agrifood sector.

I have also received notice from Senator John McGahon of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for the Environment, Climate Action and Communications to make a statement on the Government’s offshore wind energy strategy.

The need for the Minister for Transport to make a statement on the timeframe for the implementation of actions arising from the strategic rail review as outlined in the national development plan.

I have also received notice from Senator Malcolm Byrne of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Justice to provide an update on plans to restructure and additionally resource the Data Protection Commission.

I have also received notice from Senator Fiona O’Loughlin of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Health to make a statement on the policy of ambulances bringing patients to the nearest hospital.

I have also received notice from Senator Jerry Buttimer of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Health to make a statement on the provision of additional neurology nurses at Cork University Hospital.

The matters raised by the Senators are suitable for discussion and I have selected Senators Murphy; Mullen; Gallagher; Ahearn and Lombard, who are sharing their time; and they will be taken now. The other Senators may give notice on another day of the matters they wish to raise.
