I have received notice from Senator Malcolm Byrne that, on the motion for the Commencement of the House today, he proposes to raise the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Finance to make a statement on measures being put in place to ensure greater competition in the Irish banking and financial services market, including giving a statutory function to the Central Bank in this area.

I have also received notice from Senator Seán Kyne of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Transport to make a statement on the reported cancellation of national road projects, including the Clifden to Maam Cross project in County Galway.

I have also received notice from Senator Marie Sherlock of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Health to make a statement on the provision of funding in 2022 to the North Inner City Drugs and Alcohol Task Force.

I have also received notice from Senator Róisín Garvey of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Education to make a statement on the provision of whole-school ventilation systems and air-to-water heating systems in the new schools at the Ennistymon education campus and at Mary Immaculate Secondary School, Lisdoonvarna, County Clare.

I have also received notice from Senator Mary Fitzpatrick of the following matter:

The need for the Minister of Education to make a statement on the proposed location, from September 2022, of Gaelscoil Áine, Drumcondra, Dublin 9.

I have also received notice from Senator Micheál Carrigy of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Education to make a statement on the development of a new post-primary school for Meán Scoil Mhuire, Longford.

I have also received notice from Senator Garret Ahearn of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Social Protection to make a statement on the new proposals for the collection of jobseekers' payments at local post offices.

I have also received notice from Senator Tim Lombard of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform to make a statement on how value for money reviews ensure the taxpayer is getting value for money from publicly funded projects.

Of the matters raised by the Senators suitable for discussion, I have selected Senators Malcolm Byrne, Kyne, Sherlock, Garvey, Fitzpatrick and Carrigy and they will be taken now. The other Senators may give notice on another day of the matters that they wish to raise.
