Vol. 282 No. 7

Gnó an tSeanaid - Business of Seanad

I have received notice from Senator Rónán Mullen that, on the motion for the Commencement of the House today, he proposes to raise the following matter:

The need for Minister for Health to make a statement on the procurement process undertaken for the appointment of an independent chair of the review of the operation of the Health (Regulation of Termination of Pregnancy) Act 2018.

I have also received notice from Senator Maria Byrne of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Health to make a statement on waiting lists for children with complex needs for permanent residential beds in the mid-west healthcare area.

I have also received notice from Senator Martin Conway of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine to introduce a requirement that applicants for tree felling licences be subject to a road condition survey.

I have also received notice from Senator Malcolm Byrne of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment to make a statement on supports for the development of Irish economic activity in, as well as regulation of, the metaverse.

I have also received notice from Senator Aidan Davitt of the following matter:

The need for the Minister of State at the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine with responsibility for land use and biodiversity to make a statement on the delays in approving tree felling licences.

I have also received notice from Senator Garret Ahearn of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage to make a statement on his vision for improving the reputation of the public sector, in particular the local authority sector.

I have also received notice from Senator Tim Lombard of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Education to make a statement on plans to build a second post-primary school in Kinsale. County Cork.

I have also received notice from Senator Fiona O'Loughlin of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage to make a statement on the examination of bridge infrastructure in County Kildare.

Of the matters raised by the Senators suitable for discussion, I have selected those raised by Senators Mullen, Maria Byrne, Conway and Malcolm Byrne and they will be taken now. I regret that I had to rule out of order the matter raised by Senator Fiona O'Loughlin as the Minister has no official responsibility in this particular area. The other Senators may give notice on another day of the matters they wish to raise.
