I have notice from Senator Lorraine Clifford-Lee that, on the motion for the Commencement of the House today, she proposes to raise the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Justice to commence a review of the civil legal aid scheme.

I have also received notice from Senator Paul Gavan of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Transport to make a statement on plans for public and road infrastructure for Limerick.

I have also received notice from Senator Garret Ahearn of the following matter:

The need for the Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment to make a statement on increased demands for work permits.

I have also received notice from Senator Tim Lombard of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Education to make a statement on plans in place to accommodate students sitting State examinations in June who are deemed to be a close contact of a person who has tested positive for Covid-19, specifically those who have not yet received a booster vaccine.

I have also received notice from Senator Barry Ward of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Health to make a statement on the differing rates of benefits available to medical card holders for wigs and hairpieces, which is dependent on where a person lives, and the steps being taken to standardise these rates.

I have also received notice from Senator Sharon Keogan of the following matter:

The need for the Minister of State with responsibility for sport and the Gaeltacht to ensure fair competition across all levels of women’s sport in Ireland.

The matters raised by the Senators are suitable for discussion. I have selected the matters raised by Senators Clifford-Lee, Gavan, Ahearn and Lombard and they will be taken now. The other Senators may give notice on another day of the matters that they wish to raise.
