Gnó an tSeanaid - Business of Seanad

Maidin mhaith a chomhghleacaithe agus fáilte romhaibh. I have received notice from Senator Maria Byrne that, on the motion for the Commencement of the House today, she proposes to raise the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Justice to make a statement on the barriers facing non-fluent English speakers in reporting sexual and gender-based violence.

I have also received notice from Senators Seán Kyne and Barry Ward of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Social Protection to make a statement on the measures being put in place to support Ukrainian refugees as they arrive in Ireland.

I have also received notice from Senator Garret Ahearn of the following matter:

The need for the Minister of State with responsibility for heritage and electoral reform to amend the Wildlife Act 1976 to extend the period to burn vegetation from 1 March to April.

I have also received notice from Senator Martin Conway of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Health to carry out a review of the Shannondoc out-of-hours GP service.

I have also received notice from Senator Fiona O’Loughlin of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Justice to make a statement on the document requirements for Ukrainian nationals entering Ireland.

Of the matters raised by the Senators suitable for discussion, I have selected Senators Maria Byrne, Kyne and Ward, Ahearn and Conway and they will be taken now. Senator O'Loughlin has withdrawn her Commencement matter, which I had originally selected.
