Vol. 283 No. 9

Gnó an tSeanaid - Business of Seanad

Maidin mhaith daoibh uilig, agus fáilte romhaibh chuig an seisiún seo.

I have received notice from Senator Victor Boyhan that, on the motion for the Commencement of the House today, he proposes to raise the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Transport to make a statement on the future of the Dublin eastern bypass corridor route.

I have also received notice from Senator Eugene Murphy of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Transport to provide an update on the N61 national secondary route between Ballymurray and Knockcroghery, County Roscommon.

I have also received notice from Senator Fiona O'Loughlin of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Education to conduct a review of the DEIS programme.

I have also received notice from Senator Tim Lombard of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage to make a statement on plans to regulate Airbnb properties.

I have also received notice from Senator Erin McGreehan of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for the Environment, Climate and Communications to make a statement on the deposit return scheme.

I have also received notice from Senator Malcolm Byrne of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Foreign Affairs to make a statement on the process of appointment of Irish ambassadors.

I have also received notice from Senator Róisín Garvey of the following matter:

The need for the Minister of State with responsibility for public procurement and eGovernment to make a statement on the circular economy.

I have also received notice from Senator Garret Ahearn of the following matter:

The need for the Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment to clarify whether Ukrainian citizens currently working in Ireland can avail of the same rights that will be made available to Ukrainian refugees.

I have also received notice from Senator Mary Fitzpatrick of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Transport to ensure that the independent expert appointed to advise residents on the MetroLink project will be managed by his Department.

I have also received notice from Senator Barry Ward of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage to make a statement on compliance with EU bathing water directives and when bathing water regulations will be amended to allow local authorities to change the length of the bathing season.

Of the matters raised by Senators that are suitable for discussion, I have selected those raised by Senators Boyhan, Murphy, O'Loughlin and Lombard and they will be taken now. Senator Garvey has withdrawn her Commencement matter, which I had originally selected. I regret that I had to rule out of order the matter raised by Senator Fitzpatrick on the grounds that the Minister has no official responsibility for the matter. The other Senators may give notice on another day of the matters they wish to raise.
