I just heard my good friend and colleague mentioning Kinsale. It is a very beautiful town, as is all of Cork. I had the privilege of visiting it last week and the visit was enhanced by meeting Senator Lombard there.

I have received notice from Senator Fiona O'Loughlin that, on the motion for the Commencement of the House today, she proposes to raise the following matter:

The need for Minister of State with responsibility for special education and inclusion to provide an update on the provision of secondary school places in south Kildare for the academic year 2022-23.

I have also received notice from Senator Tim Lombard of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Education to make a statement on plans to introduce mandatory teacher training on dyslexia.

I have also received notice from Senator Victor Boyhan of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage to make a statement on commitments made to transfer State land to the Land Development Agency.

I have also received notice from Senator Marie Sherlock of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Health to make a statement on plans to advertise the recent policy changes of the Irish Blood Transfusion Service with regard to donation of blood by gay, bisexual and other men who have sex with men.

I have also received notice from Senator Rónán Mullan of the following matter:

The need for the Taoiseach to make a statement on the advice issued on the Central Statistics Office website regarding the completion of the census 2022 form in relation to declaration of sex.

I have also received notice from Senator Garret Ahearn of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Education to provide an update on the building project for Kilsheelan National School, Clonmel, County Tipperary.

I have also received notice from Senator Malcolm Byrne of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Health to provide an update on the national children’s hospital, including costs to date and the planned opening date.

I have also received notice from Senator Paul Gavan of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Health to make a statement on the review of orthodontic services.

I have also received notice from Senator Maria Byrne of the following matter:

The need for the Minister of Agriculture, Food and the Marine to make a statement on his Department’s progress in reducing the climate footprint and making Irish agriculture climate resilient.

I have also received notice from Senator Robbie Gallagher of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Transport to make a statement on funding for regional and local roads in counties Cavan and Monaghan and throughout rural Ireland.

I have also received notice from Senator Emer Currie of the following matter:

The need for the Minister of State with responsibility for the Office of Public Works to provide an update on the Phoenix Park parking strategy recommended in the transport and mobility study report.

I have also received notice from Senator Seán Kyne of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage to make a statement on engagement with Galway City and County Councils on delivery of affordable housing.

Of the matters raised by the Senators that are suitable for discussion and, the Cathaoirleach has selected those of Senators O'Loughlin, Lombard, Boyhan and Sherlock and they will be taken now. The other Senators may give notice on another day of the matters that they wish to raise.
