Vol. 284 No. 10

Gnó an tSeanaid - Business of Seanad

I have received notice from Senator Lynn Boylan that, on the motion for the Commencement of the House today, she proposes to raise the following matter:

The need for the Minister of State with responsibility for the Office of Public Works, OPW, to make a statement on the use of non-established employment contracts in the OPW.

I have also received notice from Senator Catherine Ardagh of the following matter:

The need for the Minister of State with responsibility for special education and inclusion to make a statement on the summer provision programme 2022.

I have also received notice from Senator Malcolm Byrne of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Defence to make a statement on Ireland’s current defence capabilities.

I have also received notice from Senator Victor Boyhan of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth to make a statement on progress on an enhanced medical card for eligible applicants as part of the mother and baby institutions Government support scheme.

I have also received notice from Senator Seán Kyne of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Health to provide an update on the status of the new accident and emergency department at University Hospital Galway.

I have also received notice from Senator Micheál Carrigy of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage to make a statement on the provision of a new fire station in Ballymahon, County Longford.

I have also received notice from Senator Maria Byrne of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Health to make a statement on the appointment of the adjudicator of the primary medical health certificate.

I have also received notice from Senator Tim Lombard of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media to make a statement on funding streams available to local authorities for the provision of public facilities at public amenities.

Of the matters raised by Senators suitable for discussion, I have selected those from Senators Boylan, Ardagh, Malcolm Byrne, Boyhan, Kyne and Carrigy and they will be taken now. I regret that I had to rule out of order the matter raised by Senator Lombard as the Minister has no official responsibility in the matter. The other Senators may give notice on another day of the matters they wish to raise.
