I have received notice from Senator Eugene Murphy that, on the motion for the Commencement of the House today, he proposes to raise the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Education to make a statement on the progress on development at St. Teresa's Special School, Ballinasloe, County Galway.

I have also received notice from Senator Róisín Garvey of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Housing, Local Government and Heritage to make a statement on the taking in charge of housing estates that have developer-provided water services infrastructure.

I have also received notice from Senator Fintan Warfield of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media to provide an update on investment in national cultural institutions under the sectoral plan, Investing in our Culture, Language & Heritage 2018–2027, as part of Project Ireland 2040.

I have also received notice from Senator Seán Kyne of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for the Environment, Climate and Communications to make a statement on the review to be conducted under section 18(3) of the Inland Fisheries Act 2010 in respect of the functions of Inland Fisheries Ireland.

I have also received notice from Senator Malcolm Byrne of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Transport to make a statement on the regulation of jet skis.

I have also received notice from Senator Maria Byrne of the following matter:

The need for the Minister of Social Protection to make a statement on differences for carers when moving from the domiciliary care allowance to carer's benefit or carer's allowance.

I have also received notice from Senator Victor Boyhan of the following matter:

The need for the Minister of State with responsibility for local government and planning to make a statement on the funding allocation for the development of rural nodes.

I have also received notice from Senator Fiona O'Loughlin of the following matter:

The need for the Minister of State with responsibility for local government and planning to provide an update on the provision of a second bridge for Newbridge, County Kildare.

I have also received notice from Senator Jerry Buttimer of the following matter:

The need for the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine to ensure Cork is a designated port for the importation of non-EU fresh produce.

I have also received notice from Senator Sharon Keogan of the following matter:

The need for the Minister of State for responsibility for employment affairs and retail businesses to make a statement on the necessity for changes to the Safe Pass system for construction workers in view of the 2017 High Court ruling on the renewal of registration cards.

The matters raised by the Senators are suitable for discussion and I have selected those raised by Senators Murphy, Garvey, Warfield and Kyne and they will be taken now. The other Senators may give notice on another day of the matters they wish to raise.

Before I take the first matter, I welcome the students and teachers from the Patrician Secondary School, Newbridge, County Kildare, who are in the Gallery. It is very good to have them with us in the Houses of democracy.
