I have received notice from the following Senators that they propose to raise the following matters:
Senator Mary Fitzpatrick - The need for the Minister for Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media to allocate funding under the large-scale sport infrastructure fund for the redevelopment of Dalymount Park, Dublin.
Senator Tim Lombard - The need for the Minister for Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media to provide an update on progress in building world-class facility centres for outdoor water-based activities, with particular reference to Garrylucas beach, Ballinspittle, County Cork.
Senator Malcolm Byrne - The need for the Minister for Education to make a statement on the calculations used by her Department to ensure that the construction of new primary and secondary level schools and extensions is linked to areas of projected rapid population growth, such as in Gorey, County Wexford, and Arklow, County Wicklow.
Senator Maria Byrne - The need for the Minister for Social Protection to make a statement on deductions from public sector pensions.
Of the matters raised by the Senators suitable for discussion, I have selected Senators Fitzpatrick, Lombard and Malcolm Byrne and they will be taken now.
I regret that I had to rule out of order the matter raised by Senator Maria Byrne on the ground that the Minister has no official responsibility in the matter.
