SECTION 14.

Question proposed: "That section 14 stand part of the Bill."

Does section 14 mean that these three county councils will inherit the debts of Dublin County Council and Dún Laoghaire Corporation?

Mr. M. Smith

I am advised that it is a technical measure and has nothing to do with incurring debts or otherwise. It allows them to automatically expend, in 1994, about 50 per cent of their expenditure for the previous year. It is a technical measure until the Estimates are adopted.
