The Select Committee on Finance and Public Service has considered the following Supplementary Estimates for Public Services for services for the year ending 31 December 1997. Vote 10 - Office of Public Works (Supplementary Estimate); Vote 15 - Valuation and Ordnance Survey (Supplementary Estimate); Vote 17 - Office of the Ombudsman (Supplementary Estimate); Vote 45 - Increase in Remuneration and Pensions (Supplementary Estimate). The Supplementary Estimates are hereby reported to the Dáil and the Clerk will convey the report to the Clerk of the Dáil.
Message to Dáil.
I belatedly apologise that I was not here last week. I congratulate the Chairman on his appointment. I am not sure if there was a discussion on the programme of work which the committee will undertake. I am not suggesting we have it now, but we should schedule such a discussion.
The discussion has been scheduled for the next meeting of the joint committee which will be held on either 14 or 21 January 1998.
