Message to Dáil.

In accordance with Standing Order 79B the following message will be sent by the clerk to the Clerk of the Dáil:

The Select Committee on Justice, Equality, Defence and Women's Rights has completed its consideration of the Children Bill, 1999, and has made amendments thereto.

I thank the Ministers and their officials for their time and effort. In particular, I thank the main spokespersons of the Fine Gael Party and the Labour Party, namely, Deputies Shatter and Shortall, for their co-operation and the amount of time and effort they put into Committee Stage.

The Select Committee adjourned at 12.45 p.m. sine die.
