I welcome the Minister, Deputy Taylor, and his officials. This Bill has been welcomed by all sides of the House and of the Seanad since it was introduced. It also received a welcome by many outside interested organisations. I am confident our discussions will result in better legislation.
At our last meeting we heard a submission on the Bill from representatives of the Law Society and the Dublin Solicitors and Bar Association. It was an interesting and informative meeting. Some of the points made by the Law Society have been covered in amendments circulated by the Minister. I take this opportunity to express the appreciation of the committee to the Minister for making his amendments available to us in advance of our meeting.
