I move amendment No. 86:
In page 22, between lines 7 and 8, to insert the following definition:
"‘chairperson' means the person appointed under section 25 as the chairperson of the Authority or the vice-chairperson appointed under section 30 while acting as the chairperson;".
This is a technical amendment.
I move amendment No. 87:
In page 22, line 14, to delete "section 39(1)" and substitute "Part V".
This is also a technical amendment.
I move amendment No. 88:
In page 22, before section 25, to insert the following new section:
"25.—The Authority shall consist of 12 members appointed by the Minister (one of whom shall be appointed as its chairperson) of whom at least five shall be male and at least five shall be female.".
This technical amendment is intended to make it clear that the gender balance requirement must be met within the authority as a whole rather than from within the ordinary membership.
