SECTION 48.

I move amendment No. 104:

In page 33, subsection (1), line 1, to delete "at" and substitute "by".

This is a minor amendment.

NEW SECTION.

I move amendment No. 105:

In page 34, before section 53, to insert the following new section:

53.—(1) A person guilty of an offence under any provision of this Act shall be liable—

(a) on summary conviction, to a fine not exceeding £1,500 or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding one year or both, or

(b) on conviction on indictment, to a fine not exceeding £15,000 or to imprisonment for a term not exceeding two years or both.

(2) If the contravention in respect of which a person is convicted of an offence under any provision of this Act is continued after the conviction, the person shall be guilty of a further offence on every day on which the contravention continues and for each such offence shall be liable on summary conviction to a fine not exceeding £250 or, on conviction on indictment, to a fine not exceeding £1,500.".
