SELECT COMMITTEE ON SOCIAL AND FAMILY AFFAIRS debate -
Tuesday, 5 Apr 2005

Message to Dáil.

In accordance with Standing Order 85, the following message will be sent to the Dáil:

The Select Committee on Social and Family Affairs has completed its consideration of the motion on the Convention on Social Security between the Government of Ireland and the Government of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

We look forward to meeting the officials again in the near future. I suspect they will have two or three visits per annum, or perhaps even more given developments regarding the various EU conventions. The select committee will meet again at some point within the next two months to consider the departmental Estimates for 2005. The joint committee will meet in a fortnight for the Combat Poverty Agency presentation. I ask that all committee members ensure their attendance. An agenda will be sent in good time.

The select committee adjourned at 3.55 p.m. sine die.
