SELECT COMMITTEE ON THE ENVIRONMENT, HERITAGE AND LOCAL GOVERNMENT debate -
Wednesday, 15 Dec 2010

Business of Select Committee

When arrangements were being made for this debate, I should have mentioned that I have organised to attend another meeting at 8 p.m. In view of the fact that we are not going to finish our consideration of the Bill this evening, I would like to know if there is an appetite to bring an end to proceedings at this stage to facilitate me.

There is no prospect that we will finish this evening. We will be here in the morning.

We can finish the Committee Stage debate tomorrow.

We will move promptly in the morning.

That is fair enough. The Chairman is experienced in these matters. How long more does he reckon we will need?

If people move speedily, we can have it done in two hours.

Will it take two hours?

At least. It can be done in two hours, all going well. If we have long discussions, they will add to the duration of the meeting.

I am always happy to facilitate Deputy Hogan.

I thank the Minister.

He has a meeting at 8 p.m.

I have to meet those unfortunate people called councillors.

We have the room booked for 10 a.m. tomorrow.

We can start earlier if Members wish.

No. We have the room booked for 10 a.m.

We will adjourn now with the intention of meeting in Committee Room 3 tomorrow. We will try to conclude our business if possible before lunch tomorrow.

The select committee adjourned at 7.50 p.m. until 10 a.m. on Thursday, 16 December 2010.
