Special Committee Companies Bill, 1962 debate -
Tuesday, 15 Jan 1963

SECTION 36.

Question proposed : " That Section 36 stand part of the Bill. "

This section is the same as Section 115 of the 1908 Act. It imposes several liabilities on the members where the number of the members of the company falls below seven in a public company or two in the case of a private company; in other words, it makes them responsible for keeping up their membership to the statutory requirements and protects the people who deal with these companies.

That seems to be a most reasonable provision.

Question put and agreed to.
