In line 54 should " Act " not have a small " a "? It is not an Act of the Oireachtas.
SECTION 29.
It refers to an Act of the Oireachtas.
I thought it referred to the act which altered the memorandum.
It is an Act of the Oireachtas, an abbreviated description. It is to deal with the very rare case where a memorandum of the company might be altered by an Act of the Oireachtas.
By the operation of law?
Yes.
I should like to have that clarified by Act of the Oireachtas. I took it to mean just the act of changing.
If it would satisfy the Senator it would be very easy to include the words " of the Oireachtas." With the permission of the Chairman, I should like to suggest that an amendment to that effect be moved.
Would it be better to put it in there or by definition of the Act?
We could do that in case Act might appear elsewhere with a small " a ".
It might also have to be " in the case of a copy of such Act ".
The Senator suggests the substitution of the word " such " for " an " in line 54.
I am accepting the Minister's suggestion and am now putting the following amendment:
In subsection (1), page 31, after " Act " in line 51 to add " of the Oireachtas " and to delete " an " in line 54 and substitute " such ".
