SECTION 177.

The general effect of the amendments I have down to this section is to reduce the punishment that may be imposed. If the Minister says that, having considered the matter he is of the opinion, and has been so advised, that it is not desirable to make these deductions, I will not press the amendments.

I can assure the Deputy on that point.
