The same thing applies here. Iris Oifigiúil is an official document and so recognised in the courts. Any attestation paper purporting to be signed by any person—that is an official permanent record, and it is presumed that the officer who took it and kept it kept it in proper course of duty, and it is properly evidence. A certified copy—that is normal practice, too—certified by the proper person. I think if Deputies looked through them they will find they are pretty well in order.
SECTION 246.
Question proposed : " That Section 246 stand part of the Bill."
Mr. Brennan
How many would take the risk of stating that they were not in uniform if they were ? There would be a double offence then.
Question put, and agreed to.
