On this section, I query the desirability of putting in paragraph (b) in its relation to the employment of young persons. It does not seem necessary to have a special paragraph dealing with young persons.
SECTION 19.
Mr. Lemass
We shall look into that suggestion.
May I raise a question as to what time the Committee might rise? I thought the Committee might like to get up a four o'clock.
It was not my decision that we should sit longer than four o'clock. In fact I was concerned about the possibility that Deputies from the country might miss their trains. If we sat until five o'clock would that suit all the Deputies?
I think we should decide on 4.30.
Mr. Lemass
Apart from the need of the country Deputies to get away before a certain time, I think there is a limit to the period to which we can intelligently discuss the Bill.
I find that two and a half hours is as long as any of us could devote to giving the Bill our close attention. Speaking for myself I must say that my mind begins to wander after two hours.
I quite agree that we should rise at 4.30.
The courts always rise at that time I understand.
I am not in their privileged position but we can copy them of course.
