Wednesday, 17 Apr 1929

SECTION 7.

The provisions of Sections 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 of this Act and of the amendments of any scheme made in pursuance thereof shall not apply to any case where the accident happened before the commencement of this Act.

I move Amendment 9 on behalf of the chairman:

Section 7, in lines 12 and 13 to delete the words and figures " The provisions of Sections 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 of this Act and of the amendments of any scheme made in pursuance thereof " and to substitute the words and figure " The foregoing provisions (except Section 1) of this Act and of the amendments of any scheme made in pursuance of the said provisions (except as aforesaid)."

Chairman

This is merely a drafting amendment to harmonise the Bill with the Report of the Committee.

An accident may happen before the passing of this Bill. I presume the provisions of the present Act will apply to any accident happening before 1st May.

Chairman

That is provided for in Section 1 of the Bill.
