I thought this was different under the Credit Union Act, 1997, but the Minister's legal advice is stronger than mine.
I will clarify this. Amendment No. 17 seeks to extend exemption from income tax to certain credit unions. This amendment, therefore, represents a substantive amendment to the statute law and has been ruled out of order accordingly.
