Thursday, 23 Oct 1997

SECTION 1027.

I move amendment No. 126:

In page 1327, paragraph (a), line 36, to delete "Part 2" and substitute "Part II".

This amendment proposes to amend a typographical error spotted by Deputy Ferris.

Amendment agreed to.

Amendments Nos. 127 and 128 are related and may be discussed together by agreement.

I move amendment No. 127:

In page 1327, paragraph (a), line 37, to delete "1989, and" and substitute "1989,

(b) an order under the Family Law Act, 1995 (other than section 12 of that Act, and".

This amendment proposes to incorporate the provisions of section 37 of the Family Law Act, 1995, into the Bill. That section provides that payments of money in accordance with an order made under that Act, other than section 12 of the Act, shall be made without deduction of income tax. The provisions of section 37 of the Family Law Act, 1995, were inadvertently left out of the consolidation Bill. The amendment will now incorporate the provisions of this section into the Bill. Accordingly, Deputy Ferris's amendment on the same topic need not be addressed as the point he raises will be dealt with by my amendment.
