323 Mr. Deasy asked the Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform if he will consider setting up a helpline to assist Dáil Deputies in relation to queries concerning visa applications, in view of the lengthy delays being experienced using the public helplines; and if he will make a statement on the matter. I addressed this issue comprehensively in my response to Parliamentary Question No. 396 of 18 November 2003 and the position is as outlined in that response.

I am considering with officials in my Department ways to underpin the quality and efficiency of services provided in light of the resources available.
