120 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Health and Children when the Western Health Board first received a letter of referral from the GP of a person (details supplied) in County Mayo regarding their need for a hip operation; the length of time this person was waiting to be assessed; the number of times this person was seen by the consultant; and when they can expect to be called for their operation. The provision of hospital services for persons resident in County Mayo is a matter for the Western Health Board. My Department has asked the chief executive officer of the board to investigate the position and reply directly to the Deputy.
