252 Dr. Upton asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food his policy in respect of provision of local, nutritious food in the canteens and restaurants in the Department; the percentage of the purchased provisions which are produced locally; the percentage which is imported; the percentage of the food on sale which is fast food; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The restaurant in Agriculture House is run as a dining club. The canteens in the Department's regional offices in Wexford, Portlaoise and Castlebar are the subject of franchise agreements. I understand the bulk of the food used by the franchise holders is purchased locally and is of Irish origin.
