389 Mr. Ring asked the Minister for Health and Children when a person (details supplied) in County Mayo will be called for assessment for cataract removal operations on both of their eyes, particularly in view of the fact that they live alone in a rural area and are losing their sight; and if they can be seen under the national treatment purchase fund scheme. The provision of services for persons resident in County Mayo is a matter for the Western Health Board. My Department has asked the chief executive officer of the board to investigate the position and to reply directly to the Deputy.
