359 Caoimhghín Ó Caoláin asked the Minister for Health and Children the strategy to ensure that patients are not put in danger by the withdrawal of services by the Irish Hospital Consultants Association; the efforts being made to resolve the dispute; and if he will make a statement on the matter. I welcome the association's decision to suspend its threatened industrial action. Discussions with the Medical Defence Union to resolve outstanding issues are continuing.
