124 Ms Shortall asked the Minister for Education and Science if his attention has been drawn to the fact that the status and proposed use for a site, currently being reserved for a school (details supplied) is about to be reviewed by the local authority and that the local authority require confirmation from his Department that it will approve the school; if he will arrange for his Department’s intentions to be clarified with the local authority so that the site is not put in jeopardy; and if he will make a statement on the matter. My Department is considering options for the long term accommodation needs of Gaelscoil Cholmcille including the possible purchase of a site. However, due to the commercial sensitivities surrounding site acquisitions the Deputy will appreciate that I am unable to comment on specific site purchase issues.
