322 Mr. Connolly asked the Minister for Health and Children the written and oral instructions given to ambulance staff in the matter of removing patients to Monaghan General Hospital or to Cavan General Hospital; the criteria used in formulating these instructions; and if he will make a statement on the matter. I propose to take Questions Nos. 322 and 323 together.

The North Eastern Health Board is responsible for the provision of ambulance services in its functional area. My Department has therefore asked the chief executive officer of the board to investigate the matters raised by the Deputy and to reply to him directly.
