48 Mr. Penrose asked the Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government if consultants have been appointed to undertake the promised independent review of local government funding; the consultants appointed; the value of the contract awarded; the terms of reference of the review; when it is expected to be completed; and if he will make a statement on the matter. View answerI have appointed Indecon International Economic Consultants in association with the Institute of Local Government Studies to carry out the review of local government funding, at a contract price of €291,100. The terms of reference of the review are set out in the request for proposals document which has been placed in the Oireachtas Library. I anticipate that the review will take up to one year to complete.
