Under the National Treasury Management Agency (Amendment) Act 2000, the Government has delegated the management of personal injury and property claims against the State to the State claims agency. I understand from that agency that the Garda Síochána on foot of a warrant signed by a judge of the District Court entered and conducted a search of the premises in question. No compensation has been paid by the State claims agency to the tenants or to the landlord on the grounds that the gardaí acted appropriately and within the expressed terms of the search warrant.
