79 Mr. O’Shea asked the Minister for Finance the progress made with regard to the negotiations between the Revenue Commissioners and the authorities in the Cayman Islands with a view to the conclusion of a tax information exchange agreement; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [8937/04]
View answerIn response to earlier Dáil questions on this matter, I stated that a first round of negotiations between the authorities in the Cayman Islands and the Revenue Commissioners for a tax information exchange agreement was held in Dublin on 24 November 2003. I am informed by the Revenue Commissioners that a further round of negotiations is planned for next month. As I stated in my earlier responses, it is not possible at this stage of the negotiations to comment on their likely outcome.
