290 Mr. Neville asked the Minister for Health and Children the breakdown by health board of the spending on suicide prevention and research in 2002, 2003 and 2004. [10533/04]
View answerSince the publication of the report of the national task force on suicide in 1998, a cumulative total of more than €17.5 million has been provided towards suicide prevention and for research. This includes an additional €1.110 million in 2002 and a further €655,000 in 2003. A breakdown of the allocation of this additional funding by health board for the years 2002 and 2003 is as follows:

This year more than €4.5 million is available to the various agencies working towards reducing the level of suicide and attempted suicide in this country. This includes the health boards, the national suicide review group, the Irish Association of Suicidology and the National Suicide Research Foundation.
