107 Ms O’Sullivan asked the Minister for Education and Science if his attention has been drawn to the fact that applications for disadvantaged status, Breaking the Cycle, Early Start and other such initiatives have been closed since 2000; if his attention has further been drawn to fact that the same schools that have the socio-economic statistics to qualify for such schemes are excluded; the plans he has to expand progress to address educational disadvantage; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Any decision to expand or extend any of the initiatives aimed at tackling educational disadvantage is being considered in the context of a broad review of all such initiatives, which is currently nearing completion.
