159 Mr. McGuinness asked the Minister for Health and Children the reasons for the delay in arranging a hip operation for a person (details supplied) in County Kilkenny; and if this matter will be expedited in view of the fact that their circumstances have worsened as indicated by their general practitioner. Responsibility for the provision of services for residents of County Kilkenny is, in the first instance, a matter for the South Eastern Health Board. My Department has, therefore, asked the chief executive officer of the South Eastern Health Board to investigate the matter and reply directly to the Deputy.
