View answerOn behalf of the European Union member states I made a speech to the ECOSOC high level dialogue meeting in the United Nations on Monday 26 April. This meeting with the Bretton Woods Institutions and the World Trade Organisation was held one day after the spring meetings of the IMF and the World Bank in Washington. The speech was prepared in consultation with our EU colleagues and it covered a number of issues. In particular, it dealt with the millennium development goals and the concern of the European Union about the situation in sub-Saharan Africa.
