179 Ms O’Sullivan asked the Minister for Education and Science when a person (details supplied) in County Kildare can expect to receive an offer of a teaching post with County Kildare VEC in view of the fact that they have been on the county panel since 1997; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The appointment of teachers by vocational education committees is a matter for the relevant VEC, subject to agreed procedures. As my Department has no role in the appointment of individual teachers in the VEC, it would not be appropriate for me or my Department to intervene in any such case.
