245 Mr. Carey asked the Minister for Health and Children the reason resources which are required to assist a person (details supplied) in Dublin 11 have not been made available; if appropriate supports will be put in place to ameliorate the effects of the rare condition of this person; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Responsibility for the provision of funding for services to persons with an intellectual disability and those with autism in the Dublin region lies, in the first instance, with the Eastern Regional Health Authority. My Department has, therefore, asked the regional chief executive of the ERHA to investigate the matter raised by the Deputy and reply directly to him.
