74 Ms Shortall asked the Minister for Defence if, in regard to proposals for decentralisation, he has plans to undertake a survey to establish the number of persons employed in his Department who are willing to move to the new locations announced by the Minister for Finance in his budget speech; and if he will make a statement on the matter. My Department has no plans to conduct a survey of the type described by the Deputy. However, I understand the central applications facility, which will be operated by the Civil Service Commission, will be launched tomorrow. This facility will give all staff an opportunity to apply for the decentralised locations of their choice.
