60 Mr. J. O’Keeffe asked the Minister for Education and Science if he will provide full recognition to Montessori teachers who qualify at St. Nicholas’s Montessori college, following the completion of the comparative study on the St. Nicholas’s course and courses in the colleges of education; and his views on the fact that the present situation is unfair and unjust for those teaching with such qualifications who are not fully recognised at the moment for pay, pension and other purposes. The study of the Montessori courses run in the St. Nicholas's Montessori college, Dún Laoghaire is the subject of ongoing consideration within my Department. In terms of next steps, a meeting to discuss the outcomes of the study with representatives from the St. Nicholas's Montessori college is scheduled for the coming weeks. The question of broader recognition will be discussed in this context.
