141 Mr. Allen asked the Minister for Education and Science further to Parliamentary Question No. 421 of 27 January 2004, the position regarding the honours allowance for arts teachers. [14703/04]
View answerThe Department's consideration of the matter has been completed in recent days. I am pleased to say that teachers who successfully completed the special one-year course run by the National College of Art and Design for the academic years 2001-02 and 2002-03 and who were awarded the NUI Diploma in Art Teaching at honours level will now be entitled to the honours degree allowance. My Department is making arrangements to have the allowance paid to relevant teachers.
