172 Mr. McGuinness asked the Minister for Health and Children if the appointment of a health care training officer as announced at the Phelbotomists Association of Ireland AGM in March 2003 will be approved; if he has been in touch with the ERHA regarding the selection process; and if he will make a statement on the matter. My Department has approved the appointment of a health care training and development officer for phlebotomy to be employed in the National Ambulance Training School. Responsibility for all matters related to the recruitment and the selection process for the officer rests with the Eastern Regional Health Authority.
